Hi, I’m Irfan, owner of Payinless Property. Raised in Kenya but university-educated in Malaysia, I’m now happily at home in Hemel Hempstead, alongside my wife and two young daughters.

I didn’t start out as a lettings expert – that was never really in the plan. Instead, my first calling was Chemical Engineering, which I studied for four long years at the University of Nottingham in Malaysia.

But, as is often the way, my degree didn’t pave the way for a glittering engineering career. Instead, I made my way into the property sector, first in Nairobi, then in the bright lights of London.

The property industry is where I remained, learning the craft and, most importantly, developing a passion for the residential property world. And it’s where I still am – I’m no flash-in-the-pan youngster looking to use property as a stepping stone to somewhere else. Instead, I’m a lifer, committed to working in property for the long-term.

But something wasn’t right. Letting agents weren’t respected, but instead shrouded in suspicion – indispensable, yes, but still landlords and tenants only dealt with out of necessity. They certainly didn’t like doing it.

And I got it. Shady practices and a singular focus on making the next buck led to terrible customer service, for landlords and especially for tenants. But why bother treating clients like real people when the only goal was closing the deal?

That’s when I decided the industry was wrong. I didn’t want to be another disreputable cog in the machine. I wanted to do things differently, believing that a focus on personalised service would not only improve the industry’s image, but also make for a far more effective business model.

Now I’m here, at the head of a newly formed but already bustling business, working alongside many grateful investors, landlords and tenants. I’ve done it the hard way, grinding to create a thriving business and a reputation for being the go-to guy for property letting in Hemel Hempstead and the wider area.

Now, I know this all might sound a little cheesy, and maybe even insincere. But that’s because the industry has built such a poor reputation that honest, knowledgeable, and hardworking individuals are the exception, not the norm.

But trust me: I’m here to change the narrative of an industry by offering a genuinely knowledgeable service and a commitment to providing more for your money.

While software can handle the basics, only an industry-savvy professional can do the vital work of nurturing landlord-tenant relationships, handling maintenance, resolving disputes, and more. I’m committed to providing more.

Along with being customer-focused, I’m also ambitious. But I’m not chasing world domination. My goal is to grow Payinless Property within the local community, becoming the go-to name in the area. Expanding too far would dilute the level of service I offer, and this high level of service is non-negotiable.

I’ve also moved into the world of property sourcing – helping keen investors find the perfect investment properties for their portfolios.
